Matthew Sullivan

As Chief Operating Officer of Sullivan Law & Associates, Mr. Sullivan directs the strategic and day-to-day management of the firm’s Finance, Operations, Marketing, and Human Resources departments. His leadership is grounded in a commitment to delivering exceptional experiences for both clients and employees, ensuring operational excellence and a supportive workplace culture.

Mr. Sullivan’s unique expertise stems from his extensive experience in legal operations and administration. He is a recognized thought leader in the legal industry, having contributed to numerous articles, podcasts, and presentations that address critical issues such as financial planning, cash flow management, and the effective use of technology in law firms. His active involvement in organizations like the Association of Legal Administrators (ALA)—where he has served in leadership roles including Chair of the Professional Development Advisory Committee—keeps him at the forefront of legal innovation and industry trends.

Mr. Sullivan is known for his drive for efficiency, creative problem-solving, and dedication to continuous improvement. His ability to identify and implement innovative strategies has consistently delivered positive results for both the firm and its clients. Drawing on his entrepreneurial experience founding Unravel Legal, a consultancy specializing in law firm financial management, Mr. Sullivan has cultivated a deep understanding of the challenges legal professionals face and the tools needed to overcome them.

Mr. Sullivan earned his Juris Doctor from Trinity Law School and a Bachelor of Science in Criminal Justice from California State University, Fullerton. A former collegiate athlete and high school coach, he thrives on challenge and change, bringing this same competitive spirit to his professional endeavors.

Outside of work, Mr. Sullivan is deeply engaged in his community, serving as President of his local Little League and leading initiatives to enhance youth sports programs. He values time with his family and finds joy in coaching his sons’ teams, fostering a love for sports and teamwork in the next generation.
